Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here
This ongoing project was started by Beau Beausoleil of San Francisco, CA in the effort to commemorate and memorialize the 2007 bombing of al-Mutanabbi Street, the booksellers' street in Baghdad.   There are currently 254 participating book artists worldwide, with all books scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012.

Please check back for updates on exhibitions.  For more information and to see the work of Boston-area artists, please go to http://www.al-mutanabbistreetstartshere-boston.com/index.html.  This project began with a call to printers, resulting in 130 broadsides that continue to be shown in a variety of venues around the world.  These can be seen here:http://www.library.fau.edu/depts/spc/JaffeCenter/collection/al-mutanabbi/index.php

My book, "Dear al-Mutanabbi Street," is a letter of empathy to the survivors of this terrible bombing, expressed through collages that call up my own experience of war and loss.   The book measures 8" x 4.5" (open).
